The magic number to make our creek rage is 2” of rain. A year ago, all this water would’ve filled the brand-new sinkhole threatening to eat our driveway, and we’d be biting our nails. After months of planning, we filled the 30’ hole this summer, saved the driveway, and made friends with the rain again. The creek is headed back through the woods instead of underground, and the ol’ hole is now a sweet patch of earth that, this summer, will be home to milkweed for the butterflies.
